Each year at MWC Barcelona, Global Mobile Awards, to honor the market highlights in the previous year. This time HTC got along. Despite the crisis that affected the company throughout 2013, the HTC One stood out and was chosen as the best smartphone.
This seems to be HTC's fate: expert criticism only finds praise, but still lacks success among the public (and hence increased sales). Now Taiwanese can hang this prize on the wall while looking for a solution to the crisis (their crazy marketing campaigns seem to have no effect). To give you an idea, the last winner of this award was also the best selling device of 2012, the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Among the other categories of the award, LG was deservedly named the most innovative manufacturer (the LG G2 fully proof), the best tablet was the Apple iPad Air and the best low-end smartphone was the Lumia 520.
