HTC executive says Apple actually copied his company

This week the world of technology commented that the HTC One A9 (new smartphone from Taiwan) looks more like a brother of the iPhone 6 / 6s than an evolution of the company's line of devices itself. Because Jack Tong (HTC executive) was not happy to read this out of the box, as reported by WCT.

According to him, it was Apple who copied HTC, after all the company created a metal device and antenna incorporated in the back in the form of stripes. “The A9 was made thinner and lighter than our metal-coated predecessor phones. This is a change and an evolution, and we are not copying. ”

HTC One (M7)

In fact, as we said in our own post, HTC was a pioneer in using these materials, culminating in the first metal smartphone with a body unibody: the HTC One (M7), launched in 2013.

My opinion on the subject? Even though many of you view it as "you are defending Apple" or "when Apple copies, it is worth; when copied, in the valley ”, I really see these two cases in very different ways. Yes, Apple used the same materials when creating the iPhone 6. But even though some see similarities in the look of the M7 and iPhone 6, apart from the material and the antenna stripe, I can't see anything else that can be pointed out as a copy .

HTC One A9

Starting with the case involving the A9, it is true that the device is lighter and thinner than its predecessors. But some critical points of HTC's design have changed a lot, like the front speaker outlet, the more rounded corners, protruding rear camera (with round True Tone flash) when I look at the predecessors of the A9 (the first image in this post is to prove it), I can't see all this similarity with the iPhones I am seeing now.

The One A9 is HTC's new flagship. It runs the latest version of Android, has a slightly curved 5-inch AMOLED screen, 13 megapixel rear camera, eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor running at 1.5GHz, 3GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage capacity, fast battery charging (Quick Charge 2.0), among other things. It is available in various colors and costs US $ 400 in the USA.
