Anyone who accompanies me on social media knows that this past week I traveled to Vale do Silcio to participate in Google I / O, the company's annual developer conference where some products are also launched for the platform. You can follow some of the event's news in this article.
To my delight, I learned that on Saturday that same week Apple would open its new store in San Francisco, the Apple Union Square. As its name implies, it is located in the famous city square, one of the main tourist spots in the city and very close to the old Ma store that was closed the day before the new one opened.
The opening was at 10 am in San Francisco and, as usual, the line was gigantic. I arrived a little earlier to guarantee a good seat and to be one of the first to enter.
As always, Apple presented all the first visitors with gifts this time not only a shirt (standard black, with “Union Square” written on the front), but also with a box with some kinds of “postcards” of photos taken with iPhones.
If you haven't seen it, here are the two transmissions I made before opening and entering the store:
Here, a 360 video of the moment we entered the store:
And another one of a 360l tour inside:
The magnificent shop! It has a very high ceiling and a completely renovated decoration. I had already read and seen photos of the giant screen on the second floor of the store, but personally it is even more impressive with its 6K resolution. It also pleases all the green that Apple has been inserting into its stores lately.
What caught my attention the most was the presence of Sir Jony Ive. He, who does not like to show up and much less to speak in public, was there and it was just smiles! The Apple design boss spent several minutes giving interviews alongside Angela Ahrendts (store manager) and attended to some fans who were nearby. I had the opportunity to take some pictures and exchange six words with him. 😊
We already talked a lot about the store, so more than just describing it, check out the photos and videos above to get an idea of the greatness and beauty of this one that was called by Ahrendts of Ma's “new generation of stores”!
