It is easy enough to get tired of the same repetitive ringtones that are already installed in the memory of the device when it leaves the factory. If you want to use your favorite music as a ringtone, all you need to do is download a single app. Here's how to do it:
1 – Cutting the stretch
The first step of this tutorial is to cut out the exact piece of music you want to use as a ringtone. It could be that country backbone or that electrifying beat of a well-known DJ. There are several ways to do this with editing programs (like Audacity, for example), but we chose to hack into a site that does the service for free.
Go to mp3cut.net to cut the audio. There, select the piece of music you want to use as a ringtone (keep in mind that you will need to hear that your phone is ringing). Also enable the options of ?Fade in? and ?Fade out?. Then click "Cut" and start downloading the snippet.
2 – Ringtone Maker
You will need to download the Ringtone Maker app on your Android. But before you do that, make sure you transfer the snippet to your phone using a USB cable or downloading it after storing it in some cloud.
Once you do this, open it and allow it to access the necessary settings on your smartphone. Then click on the icon in the upper left corner and go to "Scan" to search all the songs on your phone.
You will notice that the application will even search for incoming audio on WhatsApp. Make sure the music you want is among the files found.
Click on the three-point icon next to the song that will turn into a ringtone and choose the "Advanced" option. Choose "Set as ringtone" and press "OK."
3 – Changing the ringtone
The last step in the process is to change the ringtone directly in the device settings. In general smartphones have different ways to do this, but they are easily found. The tutorial below was performed on an LG G5. In this case, we went to ?Settings?, ?Ringtone? and selected the music.
Ready! Now the custom ringtone is already active. If you want, you can create your own music for each of your contacts using the same method.
