The Citizen Calculator is a Central Bank application that performs a series of complex calculations, but that everyone needs to do at some point. The app allows you to simulate financing, forecast the yield of applications and correct values based on indices such as savings and inflation, among other operations.
The platform, which is free, has versions for iPhone (iOS) and Android, both with the same features. See the tutorial below and learn how to use the main functions of the Citizen Calculator.

Step 1. The first tool that we will teach the "Financing" tool. It has four fields: amount financed, number of months, monthly interest rate and installment amount. The app can calculate any of these variables, if the user only needs to fill in the other three fields.

Step 2. To detail the operation of the app, we formulate the following example: you want to request financing of R $ 600 thousand, you want to pay in 48 months and you know that the institution charges 0.1% of interest to the month. Enter these values in the respective fields. As soon as you touch the missing field ("Payment amount"), it will be filled in with the calculation answer – in this example, R $ 12,808.66 per month.

Step 3. When the bead is made, a round button with a hand drawing appears on the side. Move it to a field if you want to delete its value and enter a new number – in this example, we have increased the number of installments from 48 to 70 months. The Central Bank app will update the missing field with the new amount (here, R $ 8,879.22).

Step 4. The dynamics are the same for any variant of the calculation. If you want to calculate how many months it will take to pay a certain amount by paying a certain amount (in this case, R $ 2 thousand), just enter the financing amount, the installment and the interest rate. The result is always given in months, so divide by 12 to know the time in years (here, just over 29 years).

Step 5. You can send the calculation via WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or another app via the "Share" button. If you want to delete all fields at once to make another calculation, press "Clear".

Step 1. Tap on the piggy icon or go to the home screen of the app and enter "Application" to calculate how much to have after a certain time making monthly deposits. As in "Financing", the application calculator obtains the value of any one of the four fields – regular deposit amount, number of months, monthly interest rate and amount obtained at the end. Fill in the three fields that you know and tap on the fourth to know the result – in this case, value obtained at the end, which is R $ 4,859.26.

Step 2. To find out how much you need to deposit to have R $ 5,000 after four years, for example, enter these values and add the interest rate. The amount will appear as soon as you touch "Regular deposit amount".

Step 1. The "Correo de Valores" tool serves to update a value according to the financial index, such as savings, CDI or IGP-M. When entering it, first click on the "correction index" field and select the appropriate one. In this tutorial, we will use the new savings as an example.
