Alexa is Amazon’s virtual assistant, with apps available for Android phones and iPhone (iOS). In the application, the user can use voice commands to add alarms and reminders, consult his calendar, search the Internet, play music and much more. The application can also be used to configure and manage company devices with assistant support, such as Echo, Echo Dot, Fire TV Cube and others.
In the following tutorial, check out how to set up and use the Amazon Alexa app on your phone. The procedure was performed on an iPhone XR with iOS 13, but the tips also apply to users of devices with the Google system.

Step 1. Download and install the Amazon Alexa app on your phone. When you open it for the first time, you will need to log in to your Amazon account. Tap «Create a new Amazon account» to register for free. After logging in, tap «Continue»;

Step 2. Next, select whether you want to set up Amazon Echo or the Alexa app on your phone. Select your name and, if necessary, confirm your identity;

Step 3. In the next steps, grant the app access to your contacts and confirm your phone number. You will receive a verification code by SMS message, which must be entered on the next screen;

Step 4. A brief introduction to the application will be displayed. Tap «Next» and «OK» a few times to end the tour;

Step 5. In «Home screen», you can view the date and the weather forecast of your city. Slide the cards up to see suggestions of what you can do in the app. The cards they are dynamic and change daily;

Step 6. In the «Communicate» tab, it is possible to make calls, send messages, files and notices to other people through Echo devices. The features are exclusive to people who own Amazon devices;

Step 7. Touch the central button on the bottom bar to call up the assistant. You can use voice commands to add reminders, check your calendar, search the Internet, play music and more;

Step 8. Access the «Play» tab to listen to music on Amazon Music and local radio. It is also possible to link apps like Spotify and Deezer to listen to your music. Finally, in the «Devices» tab, you can add and manage Amazon devices connected to your account.
