Gmail now works offline natively. With the novelty, users can write emails, search, delete and archive conversations of up to 90 days, even without the Internet. The feature is available to anyone using the new Gmail interface in Google Chrome v61 or later. In the announcement of the functionality, the Google team confirmed that the extended Gmail Offline will be disabled soon. Step 1. After activating the new Gmail, click on the gear icon on the main screen and select "Settings";

Step 2. Click on the "Offline" tab. Check the box "Enable offline email", which is disabled by default;

Step 3. Next, the tool configuration alternatives will appear below. Select the email storage period (7, 30 or 90 days) and choose how Gmail should behave when you log out if the data will be kept on the computer or removed. That done, press "Save changes";

Step 4. Gmail shows a reminder that it recommends to enable offline mode on shared computers. Click "Ok" to confirm the feature activation;

Step 5. Gmail will take a few minutes to download all messages in the selected period (in this tutorial, 90 days). The longer the time, the longer the synchronization process will be. Wait as long as necessary;

Step 6. If you want to disable the offline email feature, simply access the settings again, enter the "Offline" tab and uncheck the "Enable offline email" box.
