Dfndr performance is a PSafe application specializing in memory cleaning and storage of Android phones. Available for free download, the app gets rid of junk mail, deletes app cache, duplicate photos and shows the heaviest WhatsApp files the user can delete to free up space. It also closes background apps to help improve the performance of smartphones with low RAM.
See how to use the main functions of the program. The tutorial was conducted on a Galaxy S8 with Android 9 (Pie) and goes for other smartphone models running older versions of the system, up to 5 (Lollipop).

Step 1. Download dfndr performance. When opening it for the first time, I need to select the "Continue with ads" option to use the free version;

Step 2. Then allow access to your files so that the application can perform the cleanup. Start with the performance enhancement feature by tapping the "Memory Accelerator" button;

Step 3. dfndr performance will display a list of applications that are open in the background and can be closed to try to make it run faster. Uncheck frequently used apps, such as WhatsApp and Facebook, to not close apps unnecessarily and further degrade performance. When you're done, tap "Release Now."
At the end of the process, the app shows the percentage of RAM released after the apps close. Tap "X closed apps" to see the list of closed programs. They are still installed on the phone but no longer run in the background for now.

Step 1. dfndr performance has several cleaning tools that help to get rid of useless files on the phone. Start with the "Quick Cleanup" feature, which replays temporary files that can be removed immediately. Remember to uncheck commonly used apps to prevent thumbnails of images and other accessory files from being deleted unnecessarily after all, your phone will have to download these items again shortly thereafter;

Step 2. Then use the "Full Cleanup" function to remove even more junk mail and release a few extra megabytes.

Step 1. From the app's home screen, scroll down and select "Cache Cleanup" to perform a deeper analysis on files that can be removed without further damage to the phone's operation. Tap "Start now" to grant necessary permissions;

Step 3. Turn on the key next to the app and tap "OK" to advance. Then do the same with the "Appear over others" permission;

Step 4. From there, just wait until dfndr performance analyzes each application installed on the phone and deletes related files that are not currently useful. Check the recovered space at the top of the screen at the end of the procedure.

Tap "Clean up repeat photos" and wait a few seconds to see all duplicate photos taking up unnecessary space on your phone. The app automatically marks one of the pairs and leaves a version in memory. Tap "Delete" to remove repeated images only.

Step 1. With the "WhatsApp Cleanup" function, you can see all messenger media organized by type. By default, dfndr performance selects all files and allows you to remove the entire set at once, so be careful not to throw away precious content that cannot be recovered later. Drag sideways to see more sections;

Step 2. In the video tab, for example, it is possible to filter only the heaviest ones for easy selection. Tap the menu and select "Sort by size";

Step 3. Check the items you want to remove and see the amount of megabytes or gigabytes to be released on the bottom button. Tap to advance and confirm to delete.
