Free online courses with a certificate can be accessed through Cursa, an Android application that allows users to learn on their smartphones. On the platform, distance courses on cell phone maintenance, video editing, crafts, electronics, game development, HTML5 and much more are available. Most are free, but some courses are paid – the amount varies according to the option chosen. At the end, it is possible to generate a certificate with the class load.

In the following tutorial, check out how to register and use the Cursa app to take free certified online courses. The procedure was performed on a Moto G7 Play with Android 9.0 (Pie), but the tips also apply to other phones with the Google system. The application is not available for iPhone (iOS).

Step 1. Install the Cursa app on your phone. When opening it for the first time, tap on the icon indicated to register. Once this is done, tap on «No, register me»;

Step 2. In the registration form, tap «Sign up with Google» to import your data or fill in the requested information and tap «Finish» at the bottom of the screen;

Step 2. To open the search and find a course, tap on the magnifying glass icon in the lower left corner of the screen. You can also browse through the categories available on the home screen;

Step 3. Open the desired course to see the details, available content and total class time. Tap «Start» to watch the video lessons. Please note that courses marked with the «Premium» seal are not free;

Step 4. On the Cursa home screen, you can find the courses you have started and can easily resume them. At the end of a course, tap on the indicated tab to generate the certificate. Enter the requested information, such as name and CPF (optional) and tap «Generate certificate». The document will be sent to your email;

Step 5. You can also set up reminders. To do this, tap on the menu button, in the lower right corner of the screen, and go to «Study reminder»;

Step 6. Tap «+» to create a new reminder. Enter a name for the alert, select category and subcategory and define days of the week and times. Finally, tap «Save changes».
