How to translate WhatsApp messages via SwiftKey for Android | Social networks

In the tutorial below, we teach you how to translate messages received on WhatsApp, as well as send texts in another language, using the SwiftKey keyboard. The procedure was performed on a Moto G5S Plus running Android 8.1 (Oreo).

Translate incoming messages

Step 1. To activate the new feature, tap the "+" button on the top bar of SwiftKey and select the translation icon, highlighted in the second image below.

Step 2. A message informs you that, when using the function, the text will be sent to Microsoft Translator. Press the "I agree" button to confirm the operation. Touch the double arrow in the middle to change the translation direction (in this image, set to translate from English to Portuguese). If you want to change the languages, tap the arrow next to the language and choose the desired one.

Step 3. Long press on the message you want to translate to select it, then press the copy button. SwiftKey will automatically display the translated text in the box.

Send message in another language

Step 1. To send a message already translated on WhatsApp, enter the SwiftKey translation tool and choose the second language (in this example, French).

Step 2. Type the message you want to translate into the text field inside the SwiftKey keyboard itself. The content will be translated into the selected language automatically, where messages are typed normally, as you type. When finished, just press the WhatsApp send button, as usual.
