When someone goes to your home and wants to use your Wi-Fi, you need to enter the network password for that person to connect. But that will change on iOS 11, thanks to a function that allows you to share the password without revealing it.
And the cool thing is that it doesn’t just work with your home network, but any other Wi-Fi that is stored on your iPhone or iPad.
The process is quite simple. Let’s say you already have your iPhone connected to Wi-Fi. When another device is nearby and tries to connect to the same network, a warning will appear on your device, asking if you want to share the password.
When you accept, the whole process happens automatically, without you having to pass any information. This is very useful even for places that you don’t even remember your password (a bar, restaurant, hotel), but want to share with another device.
The function is pretty cool, but it can only be used between devices with iOS 11 or later.
For now the new iOS is in the testing phase and the release for all users is expected in September.
