Windows lets you share entire folders between users on the same Wi-Fi or wired network. The feature is useful for uploading many files without the Internet and speeding up day-to-day work in a place where multiple computers are connected to a single Wi-Fi. How to enable sharing
Windows s folder sharing works if your computer is configured to discover and be discovered by other PCs on the network. Learn how to see if the feature is active.
Step 1. Right click on the connection icon and select Open Network and Internet Settings. In versions prior to Windows 10, the menu may be in Control Panel;

Step 3. Expand the list below Private and enable Network Discovery and File and Printer Sharing. Do not enable these functions for a public network. If your home network is set to Public, I must first convert it to Private.

How to share a specific folder
Step 1. To share a specific folder on your computer with others on the network, right-click the item and open the Grant Access To menu. If you are already added to a HomeGroup, press the HomeGroup shortcut (view and edit). Otherwise, proceed to the option Specific people;

Step 2. Open the list of users and select All. Then press Add;

Step 3. Check the All newly added item. In the Permission Level column, set to Read to not allow changes to the folder or Read / Write to allow other people to open and save new files in the folder. At the end, press Share;

Step 4. Use the onscreen link to share the folder directly with someone else on the same network.

How to share public folder
Public folders are directories available to all users on the same network as long as the computer is configured to share files and printers. By default, these folders let anyone add, modify, and remove files.
Step 1. Access your computer from the Network menu of Windows File Explorer. Then go to the Users folder;

Step 2. The Public folder will be available in the list for common use by network computers. To always have it, right-click, drag to the desktop and create a shortcut on your desktop.
