Twitter bets on new features for the platform

THE Twitter has been betting on news to increase engagement on the platform, and also launched in March this year the Fleets, posts that expire after 24 hours, in a format that is already well known on other platforms, such as Instagram and Facebook. This novelty is still being tested, exclusively in Brazil

The Fleets they look like tweets, but have some peculiarities. In addition to being 24 hours long, these posts do not allow likes, comments and retweets. But there is a way to interact with a Fleet: just click on it and open a reply window in a Direct Message (DM), where you can continue the conversation.

According to Twitter Product Manager, Mo Al Adham, the Brazil was chosen to start testing the new functionality of the social network due to its relevance, as Brazilians are passionate about speaking and following other Brazilians on the platform. For now, Fleets will only be available in applications for Android and iOS, without forecast for web and desktop versions. If the tests are satisfactory, the company plans to expand the functionality to other markets.
