How to request a refund for an improper purchase on an App Store application

There are times when we need a way to get a payment made in an app. Either because some child ended up getting excited in some game, or certain promotions that were not very clear ended up deceiving us. Fortunately, Apple offers a reasonably easy way to request a refund for purchases made on apps. See below how to do it.

First of all, it is important to note that this resource should not be used in an abusive way. Apple is very understanding and has a tendency to always accept requests for refunds, as long as it does not realize that you are doing it repeatedly, to take illicit advantage. Also remember that after requesting a refund, you will no longer have access to that resource you had purchased, and you will not be able to purchase it again.

For some time now we taught here how to do this process through the program iTunes the computer. However, in this new tutorial we will indicate an Apple website that allows you to do this also through iOS.

Request a refund using the site

This method allows you to order from both iOS and your computer. Follow the steps:

Step 1: Visit Apple’s problem reporting website: http: //reportaproblem.apple.com/

Report Apple Problem

Step 2: Sign in with your App Store account.

Step 3: Select the tab for the category you want to request a refund. If it is an application, choose the tab Apps.

Report Apple Problem

Step 4: Search the list for the purchase you made and select the button Report.

Step 5: A box will open, with information on which device the application was purchased from. You will then see a menu, where you can choose the reason why you are asking for a refund. Choose one of them or write something, if your reason is different from the ones listed.

Step 6: Click on the button Submit.

Usually within 48 working hours you will receive a response from an attendant, saying that you understand your case and that your money will be returned. It is possible that he also says that Apple does not do this type of thing and that he is making an exception, but it is because they want to avoid the abusive use of this type of request. Brazilian law guarantees the return of any purchase made over the internet within 7 days.

As you can see, it is quite simple to request a refund for a wrong or unwanted purchase. Use this resource sparingly and with common sense, so that we always have this kind of facility in the future.
