YouTube lets you put a profile picture on the video platform. By default, the image is imported from your Google account. This means that in order to change your channel photo, you need to change the image that appears on other company services like Gmail, for example.
You can use JPG, BMP, PNG or GIF format files (without animation). Google recommends using square resolution of 800×800 pixels, although other sizes are supported. Step 1. Visit the YouTube website and, if necessary, log in to your account. Then tick over your current avatar in the upper right corner of the screen. In the menu that appears, open "My Channel";

Step 2. Position the mouse cursor over your current profile photo and select the camera icon;

Step 3. An alert message informs you that the profile photo imported from your Google account. Press "Edit" to proceed;

Step 4. Finally, choose the desired photo. You can select an image from your Google Photos gallery or press "Upload a photo" to upload an image stored on your computer.
