When the Galaxy S8 line was launched last year, many wondered why Samsung's flagship smartphone didn't come with 4K recording at 60fps.
When Note 8 arrived in the same situation, they were all confused.
Here I explain why and how to bring this function to your device.
As we know, Samsung always launches two versions of its Galaxy S, one with Exynos processor and one with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
Here in Brazil, every hour we have a model.
In 2017, Galaxy 8 that came to us came with the Exynos processor.
At the time, Samsung's 8895 Exynos 9 chipset already had support for 4K video recording at 60fps, but its Qualcomm equivalent is not.
So, to keep the versions balanced, Samsung limited its Exynos to 4K 30fps.
Now, I teach you a simple, non-root method to enable this function on your Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 + and Note 8 that have this chipset.
But beware, first of all, back up your device, and remember that you do so at your own risk, we are not responsible for possible damage to your smartphone.
Let's go to the tutorial:
- Download and install APK rubberbigpepper.lgCamera (download here);

Native app does not have 4K at 60fps, install IgCamera / AndroidPIT (screenshot)
- Open the app.
Find the gear cone and tap it;
- Go to the last tab with a wrench;

Click Edit script camera / AndroidPIT (screenshot)
- Select "Edit Camera Script";

That is the normal text, write below it / AndroidPIT (screenshot)
- Copy and paste the code below right after the text that already appears in the window:
preview-size=%pref_width%x%pref_height% video-size=%video_width%x%video_height% camera-mode=1 cam_mode=1 cam-mode=1 video-hfr=60 preview-fps-range=60000,60000

Pasted text, click Apply / AndroidPIT (screenshot)

Choose 4K / AndroidPIT (screenshot)
- Go to the tab with the film reel and select "Video Resolution" by choosing 3840 x 2160;

Select 60fps / AndroidPIT (screenshot)
- Lower down the menu, select "Video Frame Rate" and choose 60;
- Click on the gear cone again.

Note the data in the upper right / AndroidPIT (screenshot)
And everything is ready.
In the app information in the upper right corner you will see that the resolution and frame rate are in 4K at 60fps.
You can now make your videos in top quality.
But keep in mind that you always have to use this app, IgCamera, to make 4K videos at 60fps.
It's not a beautiful app, but enjoy and explore it, as it is very complete in functions for those who like photography and manual adjustments.
If the app doesn't install it at first, be sure to enable permission to install unfamiliar apps.
If it still doesn't work, try a few more times.
