Word allows you to create a timeline in a document, although it is not a program for image editing and drawing creation. Step 1. In the Insert menu of the Word function panel, access the SmartArt option;

Step 2. Select the Process type from the side menu and choose one of the options available in the gallery. The two options themselves for the timeline are the Basic Timeline and Circle-Timed arts;

Step 3. Click where it says Text to edit the description fields available on the timeline;

Step 4. Another option is to select the side arrow to open a simpler editing panel. Create a hierarchy in topics to fit SmartArt's shape automatically. In the graph in circles, main topics are in larger circles and sub-items are in smaller shape;

Step 5. Explore the Design menu to change the look of the timeline. Go to the style options to see different graphic formats. Hover over items to see changes in real time;

Step 6. You can also change the layout of the timeline without interfering with the already filled content;

Step 7. In the end, be sure to modify the type of justification of the graphic in the text of the Word document. For larger images, it is generally ideal to choose the Upper and Lower option.
