Memrise is an application for Android and iPhone (iOS) that offers free classes in English, Spanish and several other languages. It brings a method of dynamic teaching based on repetitions. Exercises involve reading new words and hearing the pronunciation over and over again to aid in memorization. Although there are modules available only to subscribers, the basic levels of all languages ‚Äč‚Äčare granted access.

Step 1. In the welcome screen, scroll down and select one of the languages ‚Äč‚Äčavailable in the app. Then touch the button for the level of the course you want to learn.

Step 2. Memrise requires free registration to start using the functions of the application. Use quick registration with Facebook or Google, or opt for traditional login with email and password.

The Memrise method focuses on vocabulary learning. The beginner English course, for example, starts with basic expressions of the language, such as day-to-day greetings. The sophistication of words gradually increases.

Step 1. Tap the speaker to hear the pronunciation and check the translation of the word. Then, touch the arrow in the lower right corner of the screen to proceed and select the option in English for the word that appears at the top.

Step 2. Having heard the pronunciation and done the first textual translation, the app asks the user to hear the English word and point the translation directly. Finally, the Portuguese word appears at the top with three possible spoken translations. Tap to hear each one and select the correct one to proceed.

Step 3. With each new word that appears in the lessons, it is possible to create a personalized note to help you memorize. Touch Create your own mem and use the text field to annotate. This content can be accessed later on the learned words screen.

Step 4. Upon passing the level, Memrise displays the list of words learned so far. Touch the word to open the related note. Below, proceed to the next lesson or open the full exercise grid. Subscriber-restricted modules have a star next to them for example, difficult words, pronunciation and writing skills.

Step 5. Memrise offers the option to subscribe as soon as the free modules end. Touch View plans to check prices. The paid version of the service includes a button that gives grammar tips and another that helps with the conversation. There are also special pronunciation classes and listening skills, lessons with difficult words and video sessions with native speakers of the language. Subscribers can also download part of the course to access offline.

Step 2. Touch Study another course and select one of the languages ‚Äč‚Äčfrom the list. Select "Start learning" and have a good class!
