Installing Cinnamon 2.4 on Ubuntu 14.04

Recently I was testing the Linux Mint graphics environment, Cinnamon, for Games, and noticed a slight improvement in FPS in Counter Strike Global Offensive, perhaps by the window composer, other than that it is a very nice environment in general.

Cinnamon Installation

Open your terminal and paste the following commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa: tsvetko.tsvetkov / cinnamon

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install cinnamon

Also install the Linux Mint themes on Cinnamon:

sudo apt-get install mint-themes

Then you just log off and at the login screen choose the interface, if something goes wrong or you don't really like the environment just use these commands below to remove:

sudo apt-get purge cinnamon * nemo- * cjs muffin * python-nemo

sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/tsvetko_tsvetkov-cinnamon*.list

sudo apt-get update

See you next time!
