WhatsApp offers a very simple way to hide the profile picture for specific contacts, or for all contacts. In this article, you will learn how to make this change quite simply.
WhatsApp is not the best reference when it comes to privacy. However, there are some very interesting features in this regard within the app, which give us the possibility to change some characteristics, such as disabling the reading confirmation. In the privacy menu you can also find the option to hide your profile photo. To do this, do the following:
- Open WhatsApp;
- Access your settings (three dots in the upper right corner);
- Click the «Account» option and then «Privacy»;
- Choose «profile photo»

This feature is very flexible, since you can choose to show your profile picture to everyone, just to your contacts in the phonebook or to anyone. It is worth remembering that this procedure does not block a contact, but it is possible that many feel that this has been done, especially if their connection status is hidden.
