Gifting WhatsApp with your mobile camera is a simple task with Gboard, an Android and iPhone (iOS) app that lets you send animated images to chat apps and social networks. With Google's virtual keyboard, the user can record up to three seconds of video, as well as insert text and drawings. The result converted to an animated GIF that can be shared. The feature is useful for those interested in customizing their messenger experience as it allows them to craft creative and dynamic videos.
In the following tutorial, learn how to use the Gboard tool to create your own GIFs and upload to WhatsApp. The procedures were performed on a Moto E5 Plus with Android 8.0 Oreo and iPhone 8 with iOS 12, but the tips apply to other phones with software from Google and Apple.

Step 1. Open the conversation with the friend or group you want to send the GIF to. On Gboard, tap the smiley cone to the left of the spacebar. Then go to the "GIF" tab, open "My GIFs" and select "Create a GIF";

Step 2. The camera phone will open. Tap on the right icon of the capture button to add special effects to images. After selecting the desired item, go over the capture button to record a video of up to three seconds;

Step 3. If you want, tap the button located in the upper right corner of the screen to add text. After making the desired adjustments, tap the submit button and, returning to WhatsApp, tap the submit button again to confirm.

Step 1. Open the conversation with the friend or group you want to send the GIF to. On Gboard, tap the camera icon with the infinity symbol. Then go over the right icon of the capture button to add special effects to the images. You can also choose between "Loop" (to repeat the video in sequence) and "Fast forward", which speeds up images. Then simply hold the capture button to record a video of up to three seconds;

Step 2. If you wish, tap the button located in the upper right corner of the screen to add text. Write the desired phrase and tap "Done". After making the desired adjustments, select "Submit" in the lower right corner of the screen;

Step 3. The GIF will be copied to the mobile download area. To use, tap on the text field and then go to "Paste". Finally, confirm the submission by tapping the button located at the bottom right.
