How to enable the new Chrome feature to decrease memory usage

Chrome Canary has gained a feature to prevent website advertisements from overconsumption of your PC's RAM. Here's how to test it!

Chrome is one of the most widely used browsers for desktop and mobile phones, and is quite popular due to its large number of extensions and features. In turn, a browser problem for many people is its high memory consumption, which sometimes slows the machine and crashes.

To get around this problem, fortunately, the Google has released new features like freeze tabs and this week implements yet another feature that now blocks advertisements that consume a lot of computer resources. Here's how to test the new feature of Google Chrome to avoid high RAM consumption.

For now, this new browser function is only available for Chrome Canary, what a test version. You can install this browser without affecting the operation of Chrome in stable version, so you can enjoy both browsers.

How to enable the feature to decrease RAM consumption in Chrome

Although the new feature is very useful, it is not yet enabled by default in the browser, not even in its test version, and needs to be activated by modifying a parameter. Check out how to do it:

  1. Visit the Google Chrome Canary website and download it. If you already have the browser installed, just upgrade it to its latest version;
