Instagram released, this Tuesday (24), a tool that allows users to download all data linked to their profile. Developed after the Facebook data leak to Cambridge Analytica, the feature makes it possible to back up all account information in a single file. After the request, the forecast of waiting for 48 hours for the download link to be sent to the email registered on the social network.
Instagram informed the TechCrunch website that the file contains account data such as photos and videos posted (with captions), profile information, search history, comments, likes, settings, list of followers and accounts that the user follows, direct messages and photos and videos shared in the chat. It is worth mentioning that the document contains only the media sent via direct in the "keep in chat" mode. In addition, the archive only contains stories published and archived from December 2017.
The feature is a practical solution for people who want to have everything shared on the social network on their PC. The feature is only available through the Instagram Web settings. However, the function will soon arrive on the iPhone (iOS) and Android phones. Step 4. The following screen displays information about the file that will be generated and when it will be available for download. Note that your email registered on Instagram appears as the recipient of the download link. At that moment, press the blue "Next" button;

Step 5. Then, enter your password to access Instagram and select "Request download" to order the information;

Step 6. A notice appears on the screen that the file is being prepared and a download link will be sent by email within 48 hours.
