O Apple watch It has a very suitable activity platform for the user to start (or continue) to exercise and move the skeleton fundamental task in these times when we are increasingly sedentary. Still, sometimes that extra incentive to get up from the chair and go to the street, race track, gym, pool, or whatever.
Do you know the perfect remedy for this lack of motivation? Compete with your friends, clear!
Fortunately, starting with iOS 12 and watchOS 5, Apple's activity platform has a really cool feature: the seven-day friend competitions. With them, you can invite a person (who also has an Apple Watch, of course) to a weeklong contest where points will be counted according to their Activity circles being completed during the days of the challenge. In the end, whoever has the most points will be the winner and earn a beautiful badge.
It's very easy to challenge a friend on both iPhone and Apple Watch. Below we show the stone path on both devices:
On iPhone
- Open the Activity app and tap the "Sharing" tab;
- Choose a friend and tap āCompete with (his name)ā;
- Tap āInvite (his name)ā and wait for the notification that the person has accepted the invitation.
In Apple Watch
- Open the Activity app and swipe left to choose a friend from the list;
- Scroll down and tap "Compete";
- Tap āInvite (his name)ā and wait for the notification that the person has accepted the invitation.
But how does the competition work, exactly? It's simple: With each percentage point added to your Activity circles, you earn a point we already explained how to complete the circles in this post. The maximum points you can earn per day is 600, thus totaling a maximum of 4,200 points over the week. If both reach this limit, perfect: a healthy draw!
Within this competition, the deck holds a few cards up its sleeve to further deepen the motivation of the users. You can, for example, receive a notification that your friend has started an activity and respond with predefined responses to encourage you.
You can also check your friend's progress: just go to the Activity app on Apple Watch and swipe left to see the shared activity; There, you touch the person you want to check to see your recent data, and you can even text them right there. You can also send a general message to all your competitors by scrolling to the end of the shared activity page and tapping the "Send Message to All" button.
If you want, for some reason, to interrupt or cancel the dispute with someone, this is also possible in some ways. To remove a friend from the dispute, simply open the Activity app on the iPhone, locate the person in question on the "Sharing" tab, and tap "Remove Friend." You can also hide your activity from a particular person on that same tab by simply locating the person and tapping āHide my activityā. Finally, on the same screen you can tap the "Mute notifications" option to not receive further notifications from him.
