Ultra AppLock is a free app for Android phones that lets you protect WhatsApp and other apps with a password or fingerprint if your device has a biometric sensor. The tool adds a system-independent lock pattern and takes a selfie photo of the face of anyone trying to unlock the software without your permission.
In the following tutorial, see how to set up and use Ultra AppLock. The procedure was performed on a Motorola Moto E5 Plus, running Android 8.0 Oreo, but the tips also apply to other devices with the Google system. The app is not available for iPhone (iOS) users.

Step 1. Download and install Ultra AppLock on your mobile. When you first open it, tap "Start" and select which apps you want to block;

Step 2. If your device has biometric sensor, you can enable fingerprint unlocking by pressing "OK". Then create an unlock pattern;

Step 3. Now set up a security question to regain access to your apps if you forget your password. In the next step, tap "Enable";

Step 4. For the application to work properly, you will need to allow access to system usage information and screen overlay. Just enable the options "Allow access to use" and "Allow overlap with other apps";

Step 5. If you want to enable photo logging of anyone trying to unlock apps, go to the Ultra AppLock menu and tap "Intruder Photography". Then tap Allow to allow camera app access and storage on your phone;

Step 6. To find out if anyone has tried to unlock your WhatsApp or any other app, open Ultra AppLock. You will be notified of the invasion and just tap "Check now" to see the photo and other information such as date and time.
