Hon Hai may start production of Apple tablet as early as September

Pursuing the intense recent rumors of an Apple tablet and information from the FT that the product can be launched before the end of the year, the Register Hardware this morning released more technical details about the machine, which could be assembled by Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Foxconn's parent company, which is very active in the world media after the suicide of one of its employees.

The alleged iTablet would have a 10-inch touchscreen (which would be under the responsibility of Wintek Corp.) and 3G connectivity, which opens up the possibility of it being marketed and subsidized by an operator like Verizon Wireless in the United States, clear. The battery supplier for the new Mac would be Dynapack International Technology Corp.

If we really consider such a tablet as a “giant iPod touch”, it would make a lot of sense for Apple to announce it in September, along with a new line of iPods. Sources of AppleInsider, however, they believe that the product will only reach the market in 2010.
