Last week, we commented here on the site a survey of USA TODAY with 1,665 American consumers about what they expected in terms of improvements to the iPhone. We took advantage and carried out our own research, which included 1,658 participations (i.e., sample almost identical to theirs).
First, here’s what you most expect from “iPhone Xs”:
More than a third of the participants want more battery (obviously), followed by a more resistant housing (perhaps with an “unbreakable” glass), removal of the notch (which in our research was much more representative than theirs), improved cameras (always welcome) and improvements to Face ID (certainly, a consensus among those who already have an iPhone X).
We also asked them for their guesses about the names of the new devices. Here are the results:
If it were up to you, readers of MacMagazine, the new line would look like this:
- 5.8 ″ OLED screen model: iPhone Xs
- 6.5 ″ OLED screen model: iPhone Xs Plus
- Model with 6.1 ″ LCD screen: iPhone 9
The first has everything to be “iPhone Xs”, really. However, the other two will most likely be called “iPhone Xs Max” and “iPhone Xc” – at least according to the most recent rumors.
The special event at which Apple will unveil its line of iPhones for 2018/19 will take place the day after tomorrow, on September 12, starting at 2pm (GMT). We will, of course, have complete coverage here on the site! ?
