He was missing: Apple releases watchOS 5.2 for all users, starting ECG expansion (Europe and Hong Kong) [atualizado]

Apple released the day before yesterday iOS 12.2 and tvOS 12.2, then also macOS Mojave 10.14.4. Of course, the watchOS 5.2; no more.

ECG on Apple Watch Series 4

The latest Apple Watches operating system update (build 16T225) is now available for all compatible model users, bringing general improvements and bug fixes as always, but also some notable things: electrocardiogram (ECG) and irregular rhythm notification are now available in Hong Kong and in various European countries (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Guam, the Netherlands, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, United Kingdom, Romania, Sweden and Switzerland)!

In addition, the update incorporates support for second-generation AirPods and real-time text (RTT) for phone calls, and also comes with a new dial exclusive to Herms models.

The bad news is that it seems that with this update Apple will block the use of ECG Series 4 models only in countries where it has already been approved by regulatory agencies. Users who have installed iOS 12.2 on their iPhones have not noticed any kind of lock, but this may now happen with the watchOS update. We will update this article as soon as we have confirmation (or no).

To those who are updating their watches, post below in the comments their impressions.

As some of you who have already updated their Apple Watches have informed us on Twitter or in the comments below, in principle the update of watchOS 5.2 *at the* affected the ECG app on Apple Watch Series 4 around here in Brazil.

Therefore, everything indicates that the signal is green for those who are waiting for a position before updating. Good update everyone!

Update II 3/27/2019 s 23:50

As it turns out, what Apple is actually blocking is new ECG activations outside the countries where the feature has already been released. For those who had it before, everything still works; However, even for those who bought the Apple Watch Series 4 in one of the countries released today (Portugal, for example), it will not be possible to activate the ECG while here in Brazil.
