As movie lovers wait for the Oscar ceremony on Sunday, the GoPro made a point of remembering that it is running for Edison AwardsIt is one of the most important innovation awards in the world.

The company got an indication in "Oscar of Innovation" thanks to the launch of Fusion camera, which competes in Media, Visual Communication and Entertainment category.
Built to capture moments that can be seen in virtual reality, Fusion features 18 megapixel cameras and records 5.2K resolution video at 30 frames per second or 3K at 60 frames per second.
The camera for recording spherical videos was one of the innovations selected by the Edison Prize jury in the communication category and will compete for the statuette against Nvidia Shield TV and the 4DX cinema technology.
The Edison Innovation Award is named after Thomas Edison, the creator of the lamp. The awards ceremony takes place April 11 in New York. You can check it out all categories are nominated for award on this site.
