Google will remove the Google Photos tab on Google Drive

Google announced that it will remove, in January 2018, the Google Photos guide to “simplify” navigation within Google Drive.

“In early January 2018, we’ll simplify Google Drive navigation by removing the Google Photos tab. You can continue to access your photos and videos in Drive by creating a Google Photos folder in My Drive, ”published the company.

To create the folder, just follow these instructions:

  1. On your computer, open drive.google.com.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Check the “Create a folder for Google Photos” option.
  4. Click Done.

Although side navigation is more intuitive than a folder (which can end up hidden by the number of folders in your Drive), someone inside Google probably doesn’t think so.
