Google will remove Google Photos tab in Google Drive

Google has announced that it will remove, in January 2018, the Google Photos guide to “simplify” navigation within Google Drive.

“In early January 2018, we will simplify Google Drive navigation by removing the Google Photos tab. You can continue to access your photos and videos in Drive by creating a Google Photos folder in My Drive, ”the company published.

To create the folder, just follow these instructions:

  1. On your computer, open drive.google.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Check the "Create a folder for Google Photos" option.
  4. Click Done.

Although side navigation is more intuitive than a folder (which may end up hidden according to the number of folders in your Drive), someone inside Google probably doesn't think so.
