Google Street View shows devastation of earthquake and tsunami in Japan

Google announced on Tuesday a special Google Street View update that shows some of the areas in northeastern Japan that were destroyed by the earthquake and tsumani that occurred last March.

“There are 44,000 square kilometers of affected areas that were captured by Street View cameras and are now available on Google Maps,” the company said in a statement from Google+.

The images can also be viewed on a special website, built especially to be a memory, where users can easily compare photos from before and after these locations.
