After venturing into the tallest building in the world, revealing current images of Hashima (the ghost island of Japan) and climbing atop the Eiffel Tower, the Google Street View service now launches images of Mount Fuji, the highest mountain in the archipelago Japanese.

“In June UNESCO granted official World Heritage status to Japan’s highest mountain – and not only for its natural splendor or spiritual significance, but also for its lasting influence on Japanese culture,” published Setsuo Murai, Head of Geo Partnerships , from Google Japan.

Using the Stret View Trekker equipment, the Google Maps team climbed the 3,776 meters of Monte. More than 14,000 photos have been recorded and are now available for a virtual visit, without leaving your home.
