Google Street View records images of the polar bear world capital

The city of Churchill, Canada, known as the “polar bear world capital”, is now available for viewing online through Google Street View.

“Polar Bears International, an organization dedicated to the lives of these majestic creatures, invited Google to visit the Canadian Arctic to capture rare bear appearances.

Together, PBI, Google Earth Outreach and Google Maps collected images from Street View in and around Churchill, as well as from Wapusk National Park, expanding the reach of PBI education and awareness work to people around the world.

With Street View, you can experience life in the tundra for yourself. Keep rolling to learn more about bears and their habitat, the impacts of climate change, as well as the work that PBI is doing to promote the cause of polar bear preservation ”.
