According to information published by Guilherme Felitti at IDG Now!, Google Brazil is planning to launch Google Street View (360 ° photo functionality of Google Maps) in partnership with Fiat in the main Brazilian cities.

According to sources close to the project, the automaker Fiat would have closed an agreement with Google to “adapt the service to the national market at the Google development center in Belo Horizonte, already responsible for adapting Google Maps to Brazil”.

Although the information demonstrates the automaker’s participation in the process, it is still not possible to have an exact definition as to whether Fiat will only sponsor the service or lend its cars to capture the images. According to the sources, the official announcement will be made in the coming weeks.
