Google has teamed up with the company that manages the Eiffel Tower to display, for the first time, images recorded at the top of the tower on its Google Street View service.

“To capture the images, the Street View team followed in the footsteps of 7 million annual visitors and climbed the tower several floors. Using the Street View Trolley (designed especially for museums and monuments) they filmed the view of the monument and its vantage points over Paris, ”published Mark Yoshitake, Head of Products and UX at the Google Cultural Institute.

In addition to 360-degree panoramas, Google also collected 50 archival images, plans, prints and photographs that show the history and social impact of the Eiffel Tower in the 19th century.
