Just one week after officially launching the Android Wear, Google has created a dedicated app area for the new platform in the Play Store. The new section displays all applications that are compatible with existing devices such as G watch, Gear live and the not yet released Moto 360.
After Google, Duolingo, and IFTTT updated their apps with Android Wear features, the other app makers decided to move. The figure below shows the newly created section. At the moment there are not many options, around 40 apps, but it seems that making apps compatible with the new platform is the number one priority for developers.
Programs like Google Maps, Hangouts, and Runtastic j have been updated to operate Android Wear. There are also interesting new apps, like one that reminds the user of taking their medications at the right time, Medisafe Meds & Pill Reminder, and one that brings news about the World Cup, Onefootball Brazil.
The growing list of compatible apps seems to make the life of Android Wear promising. And you, want to get a smart watch? Leave your comments below!
