Google Maps Implements Public Transport Layer

 layer_transporte_publico

Google Maps won today a new layer which allows highlighting public transport lines in more than 50 cities around the world, including São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Porto Alegre, Recife and Rio de Janeiro.

According to the company, the novelty helps citizens and tourists easily find information about public transport in several cities around the world. To use the new functionality is very simple, just access one of the privileged cities, click on the “more” menu and activate the respective layer.

In our tests, the only lines available for viewing in Brazilian cities belong to Metrô. Google does not say when bus lines and routes will also be present in the service.
