Google Maps announces improvements to terrain imagery

Google has announced that it will make some improvements to terrain data to bring natural geography to its map product. According to Google, the update will bring “gradations of color to represent vegetation and labels for natural land formations such as the Amazon Basin.

“This enriched data visual allows you to easily see where the great forests, deserts and mountain ranges around the world start and end. It also shows where natural land formations can be impacted by human development such as urban cities, dams and bridges, ”published Google.
