According to Reuters, Google would have made an investment of $ 880.29 million to help South Korean manufacturer LG Display in the production of screens with Oled technology for smartphones.
The international news agency says that Google offered the investment as a way to ensure a “stable production” of flexible OLED screens for the Pixel line phones.
Industry rumors suggest that the second generation of Google Pixel will bring a curved screen and thinner edges, giving the device a more competitive design with Samsung and Apple.
Sought by the American press, Google and LG Display did not comment on the matter.
