Google facilitates access to privacy settings; know how to use | Privacy

Google announced last Friday (11) a redesign of the My Account page in order to facilitate access to search, browsing and other user activities. The novelty stemming from the EU GDPR (European Union's General Data Protection Regulation), which comes into force on May 25 and imposes stricter privacy guidelines on technology companies. This new legislation has triggered a wave of changes in privacy policies also by Facebook and Apple, impacting users outside the EU, including Brazil.

The highlight of the reform of Google's privacy settings goes to a function that allows, with a click and at any time, to pause the collection of user data by the company by category (such as YouTube history, audio capture, etc.). In addition to the security tools that already existed, the improvement in access to history aims to give people who use services such as Gmail, YouTube and Android greater control over the data that Google records on their servers.
