Google Drive gets plug-in for Microsoft Office

Google today launched a plug-in for Microsoft Office that allows you to access all of your Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents in Google Drive directly from the Microsoft tool.

The plug-in also allows you to save files to Google Drive, so you can edit them in Google’s online editing tools and share with friends and colleagues.

“This is especially useful for sharing files with teams, or for accessing your files through different devices,” explained Google. “The plug-in supports Word, Excel and PowerPoint (2007, 2010, 2013), and Office 365”.
