Google does not plan to launch new Chromebook Pixel

According to Google’s senior vice president of hardware, Rick Osterloh, the search engine has no plans to launch new Pixel Chromebooks in the short term.

Osterloh, however, warns that the company’s decision does not affect the Chrome OS operating system that continues to be developed and supplied to other manufacturers.

“Chrome OS is a huge initiative at the company,” said Osterloh. “Google didn’t back down on laptops. We have market share number two in the US and the UK – but we have no plans for Google branded notebooks. ”

Launched as a “premium Chromebook”, the Pixel line offered, for a price of $ 1,299, a glimpse of how notebooks with the Chrome OS system could evolve in their next generations.

While the first generation of the Chromebook Pixel stood out for its touchscreen, the second emerged from USB-C connectivity – the first notebook to embark on the new technology.
