In mid august, Oracle accused Google of infringing Java's patent and copyright in the development of Android. According to the company, “knowingly, directly and repeatedly infringed on the intellectual property of Oracle's Java technology” when developing Android.
According to Google, in its response sent to the California federal court, "the [Oracle] claim does not specifically identify any alleged infringement by Google," says the search giant. "Oracle's claim of copyright infringement does not comply with the rules applicable to an infringement claim," he added.
Google also said that Android is open platform software, and that relevant codes and documentation related to the project are public.
