Google Chrome Web Store

Google announced last week the launch of an online store for the Google Chrome OS operating system. According to the company, Google Chrome Web Store will be responsible for bundling web-facing applications and providing easy access for users.

Similar to the Android Market structure, present in Android smartphones, the Google Chrome OS online store offers shortcuts for easy access to existing applications. Developers will also be able to sell their applications using a secure payment system, possibly Google Checkout.

“The Chrome Web Store will be launched by the end of the year and aims to be an open market for web apps. Users will be able to install applications by adding shortcuts to the new pages tab. After installing an application, it can be integrated into the browser using advanced functionality that requires permission: local storage, user location and notifications ”explained the company.
