Google and Arcade Fire launch music video in HTML5

Google and Canadian band Arcade Fire have teamed up again to bring new experiences to the web.

After the live broadcast of the Madison Square Garden show via YouTube directed by filmmaker Terry Gilliam, the group is now releasing an interactive music video for the song “We Used to Wait”, called as “The Wilderness Downtown“.

Developed by Chris Milk and “some friends on Google”, the site works only on browsers compatible with HTML5.

Described as a Chrome Experiment, the site helps promote the Google Chrome browser, in addition to using Google Street View features to make montages with images of the streets to the sound of music.
