Google acquires Snapseed photo app

Google announced, this past week, the purchase of Nik Software, which produces the Snapseed photo editing application, a program that brings features similar to Instagram.

“We are pleased to announce that Google has acquired Nik Software. For almost 17 years, we have been guided by our motto, ‘photography first,’ when building digital image editing tools, ”the company published in a press release.

Snapseed had more than 9 million users and had a price of $ 4.99 on the iTunes Store. With the acquisition, the tool should gain a new breadth when integrated with Android, Picasa and the Google+ application.
