Gmail implements new viewer for PowerPoint and TIFF documents

Google announced this week The implementation of a new technology in Gmail allows better viewing of PowerPoint documents and also supports TIFF files. Unlike the old version, the new system does not need the Flash plugin installed in the browser.

According to the company, this new viewer offers a number of new features when compared to the old technology, it is now possible to zoom in on a document, select text to copy and paste and adds the functionality of printing a presentation to a PDF document.

The new viewer also makes integrating Gmail with Google Docs even more dynamic. Just click “Edit Online” to import the document into Google's online tools suite.
