Gmail gets a new version for the web; see how to activate

Creating annotations in the new Gmail interface

Google announced on Wednesday (25) the arrival of the new Gmail with redesigned look and more functions in the web version. The e-mail client gains a cleaner design and promises to offer simpler to use functions, with shortcuts that leave the compose screen and are now accessible through the main screen. The novelty had already been discovered about two weeks ago, but only now it becomes official.

Gmail also offers smart features, many of which are inherited from Google Inbox. Among the highlights are “Postpone”, which sends the message back later, and Smart Reply, with emails ready to use in one click. The platform layout is inspired by Material Design, a visual language developed by Google, with typography, diagramming and colors to help the user organize messages.

Corporate Gmail users can also use Confidential Mode to send emails that are prevented from being copied or forwarded, and that self-destruct after a pre-defined time. In this option it is possible to define an additional code to be typed and enable the reading of the message.

Although already available for use, the new Gmail is not yet activated by default. However, Google allows you to enable news in a simple way. See how to get Gmail refurbished in the browser in the tutorial below.
