Google announced the introduction of a new interface in Gmail for iPad that seeks to make better use of the device’s large screen. In addition, it offers improvements in usability and multitasking.
“If you hold your iPad in landscape mode, you will immediately notice a new navigation bar, which allows you to quickly switch between inbox and categories, or between multiple accounts, with a single touch. To help you get through your email faster, you’ll also see a new message counter for each category, ”published Carmen Wilkinson, Software Engineer.
When returning to portrait mode, Gmail for iPad now offers a full-screen view of individual messages and better UX for composing messages.
